North Tyneside – Greenfields Community Primary School, Wideopen 8,872 km
South Tyneside – St. Matthews RC Primary, Jarrow 7,081 km
Premier League
North Tyneside – Star of the Sea RC Primary School, Whitley Bay 14,688 km
South Tyneside – Westoe Crown Primary School, South Shields 10,630 km
All the schools put in a stellar effort, with a stand out last minute push from Westoe Crown Community Primary who stormed ahead to beat Sea View Primary. With extra walking sessions, the whole school pulled together to beat their rivals by around 2000 Kilometres and take the Premier League. From North Tyneside Star of the Sea beat their closest local rivals, Stephenson Memorial Primary School by over 3000 kilometres.
The Championship was tight at the top but in the end it was Greenfields Community Primary School that came out comfortably on top. St Matthews RC Primary came in second place to take the South Tyneside honours!
In the Minnows League St. Marys pulled away early in the competition and consistently preformed to take the title in South Tyneside. In North Tyneside the race was very close, but in the end Whitehouse Primary emerged victorious by just 126 kilometres over St Bartholomew’s C of E Primary School.
